Mi gwympais yn Eden i bydew du blin

Mi gwympais yn Eden
    i bydew du blin,
Ni all'sai 'ngwaredu
    yn angel na dyn;
  Yr arfaeth drag'wyddol
      a chwiliodd i ma's,
  Ffordd newydd i'm hachub,
      rhyfeddol yw gras!

Fy haeddiant wrth natur
    oedd bod yn y llyn,
Mewn poenau trag'wyddol
    yn griddfan cyn hyn;
  Brawd anwyd yn fore
      sy'n pledio'n fy lle,
  Gynt iddo 'ngwaredu
      a phrynu i mi'r ne'.

Fe'm cafodd yn farw
    yn gorwedd mewn gwa'd,
Heb obaith o'r deyrnas
    a gollais trwy frad;
  Bendithion a gollais
      ynnillodd i mi,
  A chan mil ychwaneg
      ar Galfari fry.

Rhyfeddol fath gariad
    cyn seiliad y byd,
'Mhell cyn fy nghenedlu
    fy mhrynu mor ddrud;
  Trwy farw'n anhyfryd
      ar bren yn fy lle,
  I gadw'r un gwaelaf
      rhwng daear a ne'.

Holl ddyfroedd y moroedd
    ni olch'sai fy mriw,
Na gwaed y cre'duriaid
    er amled eu rhyw;
  Ond gwaed y Messia
      a'm gwella yn ddiboen,
  Rhyfeddol yw rhinwedd
      marwolaeth yr Oen.

'Doedd un feddyginiaeth
    rhwng nefoedd a llawr,
Iachasai fy nghlwyfau
    oedd ddyfnion a mawr;
  Ond gwaed yr Oen anwyl
      a'm prynodd yn ddrud,
  A wella fy archollion
      yn holl iach i gyd.

Cyd-ganed y ddaear
    a'r nefoedd ynghyd,
Ogoniant trag'wyddol
    i Brynwr y byd;
  Molianned pob enaid
      fy Arglwydd ar gān,
  A'm tynnodd yn fore
      bentewyn o'r tān.

[Mesur: 11.11.11.11]

gwelir:
  Cyd ganed y ddaear a'r nefoedd ynghyd

I fell in Eden
    into a black, wearying pit,
Neither angel nor man
    could deliver me;
  The eternal scheme
      sought out,
  A new way to save me,
      wonderful is grace!

My desert by nature
    was to be in the lake,
In eternal pain
    groaning before this;
  A brother who was born in the morning
      is pleading in my place,
  Once for him to deliver me
      and purchase for me heaven.

He found me dying
    lying in blood,
Without hope of the kingdom
    which I lost through treachery;
  Blessings which I lost
      he won for me,
  And a hundred thousand in addition
      on Calvary above.

Wonderful such love
    before the foundation of the world,
Long before I was begotten
    redeeming me so costly;
  Through dying unpleasantly
      on a tree in my place,
  To save the worst one
      between earth and heaven.

All the waters of the seas
   could not wash my wound,
Nor the blood of the creatures
   despite how many their kind;
  But the blood of the Messiah
      heals me painlessly,
  Wonderful is the merit
      of the death of the Lamb.

There was no remedy
    between heaven and earth,
That would heal my wounds
    which were deep and great;
  But the blood of the beloved Lamb
      redeemed me expensively,
  And improved my wounds
      all healthy.

Let the earth and heaven
    join together in singing,
Eternal glory
    to the Redeemer of the world;
  Let every soul praise
      my Lord in song,
  Who pulled me in the morning
      a brand from the fire.
